Manager, Leasing & Brokerage

General duties:
As a senior member of a professional and growing real estate management & brokerage company, you will direct the daily leasing and brokerage functions.  In this team oriented environment, you will be responsible for direct reports and will work closely and cooperatively with other functions within the organization.  You will have a positive, professional approach in planning, scheduling, communicating, and organizing the activities of your position.  You will report internally to the Vice President and externally to our clients, and as such, must be able to develop an understanding of their unique needs.  The day to day role is as follows but is not limited to:

Job Description:
  • Oversee and coordinate leasing for the Company’s managed portfolio of properties
    • Prepare leasing projections for the Annual Property Operating and Capital Budgets
    • Prepare monthly leasing reports for inclusion in monthly management reports for clients
    • Attend and direct weekly leasing & brokerage meeting
    • Oversee marketing function for vacant space within managed portfolio
    • Supervise Leasing & Brokerage Staff
    • Involvement with Project Manager to provide input and clarification for tenant leasehold construction
    • Maintain leasing & brokerage reports for review at weekly meetings
    • Conduct showings of vacant space to prospective tenants
    • Renewing leases in managed portfolio; including negotiating and preparing Offers
    • Financial analysis of Leasing and Sales Files/Transactions
  • Coordinate Exterior Brokerage
    • Identify opportunities for outside brokerage and leasing mandates
    • Oversee marketing function for outside brokerage and leasing mandates
    • Prepare proposals for outside clients - attend meetings to obtain and maintain mandates
Education requirements:
  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration or Commerce, or equivalent experience
  • Holds a valid Nova Scotia Real Estate License

Experience required:
  • Minimum of 5 years previous property leasing & brokerage is preferred
  • Superior organizational skills, ability to multi-task with an eye for detail and prior experience in supervision of staff preferred
  • Knowledgeable in all aspects of commercial lease documentation
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiating and communication skills, displaying initiative and problem solving abilities
  • Knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
  • Personable, pleasant demeanor – a “team player”
